Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft soaring near a well-attended southern California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, eventually dropping height and smashing into a line of palm groves as onlookers looked on.
Videos shared on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl near the shoreline then descending near the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palms and a steps close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the road were harmed. Information on their injuries were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
