Charli XCX Portrays a Dark Alter Ego of Her Own Identity in Mockumentary First Look
Charli XCX is getting ready for a substantial film onslaught in 2026, beginning with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
In the film, Charli portrays what she calls as a dark version of her own persona.
It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever encountered, the star remarked.
She elaborated in a conversation: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration came from the pressure to produce one.
An Early Look into The Film
The first teaser, launched on recently, blends real clips from her live performances with imagined backstage scenes.
The mockumentary is helmed and co-scripted by her collaborator, who shared that the plot revolves around a reality where the artist took completely different paths during the marketing of her chart-topping release Brat.

A Busy Acting Schedule
The mockumentary is a single one of many future screen roles for the musician, who already featured in three cinematic festival entries in the current year.

Future Ventures
The coming year will also include Charli alongside Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.
She recently signed on to appear in the actress’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I’m deeply appreciating my acting journey, she stated. I feel very, very inspired right now in that field, and I only ever want to do things that inspire me.
Musical Contributions
February will also see the launch of the filmmaker’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will feature fresh tracks from Charli.
She is also set to create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.
The film is set to premiere on 30 January.
